Yesu Nivas Convent,Vazhathope (1975)

In 1970 when the Idukki dam was begun to construct experts of all realms started to flow to the place .In order to meet the education of their children C M C sisters of Calvarymount were asked to start an English meduim LP School at Idukki in 1973. In the same period according to the request of KSEB we started an English

meduim nursery school at Manchikavala (Vazhathope) in 1974 . In 1975 we brought a new house there and Sr. Florentina was the superior. Besides the nursery, sisters extended their service to the St. George UPS Vazhathope in June 97onwards. Painavu also was a station for service till there we build a convent. This house can be viewed as a Grandmother house of Idukki, Painavu ,Vimalagiri etc. Now there is a hostel for girls and women . In 1975 Yesunivas celebrated her silver Jubilee .
